Practising the sabre is said to promote strength
Just like open hand tai chi combat, there are eight uses of force with the sabre.
  1. Pi – to chop or split
  2. Ci – to stab or pierce
  3. Tan – to search
  4. Tuo – to push up with hand on sabre
  5. Ti – to raise or lift
  6. Liao – to stir
  7. Chen – to sink
  8. Lu – to divert to the side
